Swanson Femflora is a probiotic supplement for women that contains multiple strains of Lactobacillus (vs. just 2 probiotic strains in conventional formulas) to support the flora of the mouth, gastrointestinal tract, and vagina. Studies have shown that Lactobacillus strains promote and maintain vaginal health. These strains protect the urinary tract by secreting biosurfactants that help keep tissues clean and healthy. Another strain in this formula, L. plantarum, is a strain commonly found in the oral and gastrointestinal mucosa. Studies have shown that L. plantarum can fight other bacteria and influence intestinal and systemic immunity. As people increasingly recognize the connection between gut health and overall health, probiotics can play a significant role in supporting gut and overall health. Femflora was developed for women's health.
