Also known as Blonde Psyllium, Psyllium is a low-growing herb native to Iran, Pakistan, and India. It is the primary ingredient in commercial dietary supplements called "Metamucil" and "Citrucel." Psyllium is most commonly known and used for its high mucilage content. Frontier® Organic Psyllium Husk Powder is ideal as a baking, encapsulation, and herbal preparation material.

Directions: Mix 2 teaspoons of psyllium with 8 oz or more of water or other beverage. Taking this product without a sufficient amount of liquid may cause choking. See Precautions.

Precautions: Taking this product without a sufficient amount of water may cause swelling and blockage in the throat or esophagus, or may cause choking. Do not take this product if you have difficulty swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention. Take with at least 8 oz of liquid. Safety Guidelines: Do not take if you have a bowel obstruction, esophageal stricture, or abnormal intestinal narrowing. Other medications should be taken 1 hour before or several hours after taking psyllium.
