The leather is Hawthorne Abilene, a beige rough-out leather. Unlike most suede leathers, which are made by thinly slicing the brushed side of the leather, rough-out leather is made by using the silver side (leather surface), which is the part of the leather with the highest fiber density, on the inside and the brushed side on the outside, in other words, turning the leather inside out.Rough-out leather was originally often used for outdoor shoes. It is a leather that you can enjoy changing over time, and as you wear it, the dirt and dirt will become deeper.

RED WING (Red Wing) [ABOUT Classic Moc Oxford] In 1952, Red Wing first introduced and released the white, flat-bottomed, highly cushioned traction tread sole to men's boots for work and hunting. 8 inch length boots #877. The boots were a huge success upon release, and over the years many variations have been added. In 1954, Red Wing's current 6-inch boots, #875, were released, and at the same time, #895, an oxford shoe, was released. The moccasin-type toe (mock toe), which was originally commonly used in hunting boots, is sewn three-dimensionally to match the shape of the foot, and is easy to wear with less strain on the feet. The traction tread sole, which is a thick white sole, has cushioning properties and a flat bottom surface, making it easy to walk in any place and has the great advantage of being less tiring even when worn for long periods of time. In particular, its ease of wearing in environments such as construction sites has been highly praised, and it has been used as a variety of work boots, and even as oxfords for outdoor activities and light work.
Now used. The Classic Mock Oxford is inspired by #895 and features the same Goodyear leather welt construction, Puritan triple stitching, leather insole, and traction tread outsole as the taller #877 and #875, Red Wing's iconic bestsellers. These ankle-length oxfords are easy to lace and are lightweight, yet have the high quality leather and sturdy construction required of work boots, and are highly functional short shoes that can be used for a wide range of purposes.
