Damascus Square Head

Unfortunately, the thread for the screws is stripped on one of the halves and the scale does not hold. Moreover, it is unclear why there is a cutout on it to open the lock that fixes the blade. But reaching the lock, even with the cutout, is impossible. The lock is released simply by pressing on the blade when folding. I will rivet the scale, but I don't know what to do with the lock.
