Fill the tester tube with reaction fluid (about 2ml) to the level below the chambers. Connect the tester to the expansion tank or radiator opening. Start the engine (preferably warm), introduce higher revs to obtain higher combustion pressure. Leave the engine idling at a slightly increased speed and observe the reaction fluid behavior. (the liquid in the tester should bubble). Changes the color of the reaction fluid to yellow or green (very minor damage) within a few minutes of testing, it indicates a damaged head gasket or damage to the head itself. Wash the tester tube with water and dry thoroughly.
