The patch is quickly and easily stuck to the surface of the denim fabric with an iron, covering the damaged part and strengthening the thinned part. I don't know how durable it is. I'll know after a few wears and washes of the jeans I put the patch on. Edit: Unfortunately, the patch is not durable. It started peeling right after the first wear of the jeans.
