Note: Be sure to fit the tire glider into the hook on the rim before working on it. If you try to force it in, the part that attaches to the rim hook may be damaged.
Some rims may have thick rim walls to accommodate tire gliders. In that case, you will need to file down the groove that attaches to the tire glider's hook. It can also be used with hookless rims, but you will need to modify the tire glider to use it.
