●This is a pattern of facing twin dragons that is suitable for the Year of the Dragon in 2024.
The dragon drawn on the black acetate material with gentle and delicate colored thread gives a sense of divinity and dignity.
It was created by a skilled craftsman of Japanese embroidery at the time, and it feels like watching a Japanese painting.
The reversible side features a hand-printed map of Japan on a blue base reminiscent of the ocean.
Rather than printing using modern machines, printing is done by hand printing, in which printing plates are created one color at a time and then printed one after another by hand, which takes an unimaginable amount of time and effort.
Therefore, the number produced at that time was very small, and there are very few in existence, and it is a staple item in the vintage market, along with the skull pattern, and is traded for an unbelievable amount of money.
Moreover, this work, which depicts a large-breasted dragon, castles, and landscapes, is an ultra-rare and high-end gem that is especially rare among printed Japan maps.
This is a super special souvenir jacket worthy of the name "Port Merchant".
●“KOSHO & CO.” SPECIAL EDITION
This special edition is a reproduction of carefully selected masterpieces from Taylor Toyo's collection with great attention to detail.
In addition to the detailed designs drawn with horizontal embroidery, the stitching of the acetate fabric has been adjusted to create a vintage-like finish, and the wool ribs are knitted one by one using an old-fashioned flat knitting machine.
For the reversible zippers, we restarted the fastening machines that were used more than 50 years ago and recreated the same hand-bending ones that were used back then.
Using the label of Kosho Shokai, the predecessor of Taylor Toyo, the finish is reminiscent of the heyday of vintage skajans.
